Preferred, all three belong to "multi-layer glass", and their structure includes: double glass, vacuum glass and insulating glass.
01 Introduction to the three types of glass
1.The so-called double glazing is to replace a single piece of glass on traditional doors and windows with two pieces of glass, because the air layer between the two pieces of glass is not sealed with effective sealing materials, resulting in a large amount of dust and moisture very easy to enter between the two pieces of glass, so double glazing is a restricted product in construction.
2.The so-called vacuum glass, as the name suggests, is that the space layer between two pieces of glass is in a vacuum state, which greatly reduces the thermal conductivity of the glass product; However, because the production process of vacuum glass is very complex, it cannot achieve large-scale industrial production, and the price is high, so it is rarely used in ordinary houses.
3.The so-called insulating glass is to separate the two pieces of glass by an effective sealing material sealing and spacer material, and install a desiccant that absorbs water vapor between the two pieces of glass, so as to ensure that the inside of the insulating glass is a dry air layer for a long time, and there is no moisture or dust; At the same time, insulating glass is easy to carry out large-scale industrial production, so insulating glass is a widely recommended product in new buildings.
02 Laminated (laminated) glass and insulating glass
Laminated (laminated) glass is a layer of PVB interlayer sandwiched between two pieces of glass. Even if the glass is broken, the fragments will stick to the film, and the broken glass surface will remain neat and smooth. This effectively prevents the occurrence of fragmentation and penetration falls, and ensures personal safety.
There is a certain cavity between the glass of insulating glass. Therefore, it has good thermal insulation, heat insulation, sound insulation and other properties. For example, various diffused light materials or dielectrics are used between the glass, which can achieve better sound control, light control, thermal insulation and other effects.
03 Insulating glass vs. ordinary The difference between double glazing
There is a fundamental difference between insulating glass and ordinary double glazing. The most essential difference between the two is that the former is sealed, and the latter is not.
It is precisely because of the non-sealing of double-layer glass that dust and water vapor are easy to enter the glass cavity, and the water vapor is cold and frosted, and the dust attached to the inner surface of the glass can never be removed. Of course, double-layer glass can also play a certain role in sound insulation and heat insulation to a certain extent, but the performance is far from insulating glass.
