Project background and consultant positioning

Located in Pazhou West District, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, with a building height of about 205 meters, Shugen Internet National Headquarters Building is a demonstration project for super-high-rise smart construction in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a total investment of more than 5 billion yuan, which will be completed in July 2025.

The project is built by Sany Group, SOM Architectural Design Office is responsible for the architectural design, Jianghe Curtain Wall is responsible for the curtain wall construction, and Shenyang Zhengxiang Decoration Design Co., Ltd. provides curtain wall consulting services throughout the process, from curtain wall scheme optimization, technical adaptation to functional landing, to ensure that the curtain wall system is deeply in line with the overall concept of the building, structural safety and business needs.

The core highlights of curtain wall design

Relying on the positioning of the project "mechanical beauty echoes natural beauty", Shenyang Zhengxiang focuses on the following design features in the curtain wall consulting process:

Giant cross-type steel structure grid: The curtain wall is centered on the giant cross-type steel structure grid, and the façade forms a unique pattern similar to a diamond shape, which is not only the key supporting component of the building, but also the core element of the façade design, giving the building a strong visual impact and modernity;

Five-story modular landscape terrace: The five-storey modular glass curtain wall is designed inward, so that the tower forms a spacious landscape terrace every five floors, which not only provides effective shade for the office, reduces solar radiation on the exterior wall, but also creates a pleasant public outdoor space.

Glass curtain wall and structural integration: a slanted glass curtain wall is set up inside the grid to create a three-dimensional sky terrace space, and vertical greening is arranged simultaneously, introducing the natural landscape into the room and providing a place for office staff to rest;

High performance and seismic adaptation: For Guangzhou's strong wind and earthquake-prone environment, the curtain wall system adopts friction node technology to offset the seismic force, and the diagonal grid structure reduces the amount of steel and rigid connection points, improving structural efficiency.

Lighting and Structural Enhancement: Night lighting emphasizes the structural tension of the building through a precise optical system, and customized LED arrays are arranged along the path of the load-bearing structure to highlight the geometric contours with chiaroscuro contrast, presenting a tough temperament like a "thug in a suit";

Ecological Public Space: Below the raised podium connecting the two towers, a 65-meter span pillarless public space is created, with a curtain wall design combined with vertical greenery to create an open urban garden.

Curtain wall types and key features

The total area of the curtain wall of the project is about 69,600 square meters, covering a variety of curtain wall types, and Shenyang Zhengxiang focuses on ensuring the functional adaptation and technical implementation of various curtain walls in the consulting process:

(1) Multiple curtain wall types

It includes seven types: unit curtain wall, frame curtain wall, self-bearing glass curtain wall, cable curtain wall, daylight roof, aluminum panel curtain wall, and glass railing, and pays equal attention to architectural aesthetics and functionality through diversified combinations.

(2) Characteristics of tower unit curtain wall

The tower glass curtain wall adopts a unit curtain wall, and its core features are:

Factory prefabrication and on-site hoisting: The factory completes the processing and production of curtain wall unit plates (including aluminum alloy frame and glass panel pre-assembly), and only needs to be hoisted and constructed on site, without the need to fill sealant on site, shortening the construction period and reducing the dependence on weather conditions.

Modular assembly: standardized production mode, glass panel replacement through detachable connection structure, upper and lower double connecting plate design to enhance wind load resistance, hooking installation simplifies on-site processes and improves efficiency;

Adapt to structural displacement: The special structural sealing design enables the curtain wall unit to flexibly adapt to the displacement changes of the main structure and adapt to the needs of super high-rise and steel structure high-rise buildings.

High air tightness and water tightness: the installation method of plug-in joints can effectively resist rainwater infiltration and air infiltration, and meet the requirements of environmental protection and energy saving;

Easy maintenance: The glass panel can be replaced separately, reducing later maintenance costs.

(3) Ventilators replace traditional opening sashes

The façade of the project does not have a traditional opening sash, and the ventilator is used as a ventilation device, and the advantages are as follows:

Ventilation efficiency and safety: The natural ventilation mode realizes air exchange, which is safer than the traditional opening fan structure and avoids the safety hazards of the opening fan in high-rise buildings.

Waterproof and rainproof design: using the principle of isobaric cavity and air chamber division, the sealing rubber strip forms a water conduction system, and cooperates with the slope design of the air duct and the overflow outlet to effectively prevent rainwater infiltration;

Sound insulation and noise reduction: built-in sound-absorbing materials and flexible contact design, the noise reduction effect reaches 28-36dB, reducing metal friction noise;

Ease of maintenance: The panel is removable and cleanable, low maintenance cost, and some high-end models support detachable panel design for easy daily maintenance.

Ecological and operation and maintenance guarantee

In the process of curtain wall consulting, Shenyang Zhengxiang simultaneously pays attention to the adaptation of curtain wall system with building operation and maintenance and ecological needs, helping the project achieve long-term sustainable use:

Operation and maintenance of the five-story viewing platform: The viewing platform set up on every five floors has both sunshade and leisure functions, and the window cleaning machine track is set up on each fifth floor simultaneously to facilitate cleaning and maintenance after completion;

Detail durable design: the platform ceiling and cornice are made of aluminum curtain wall to improve durability; Each floor platform is equipped with entrances and exits, and sliding doors or ground balloon doors are designed according to the function of the room to optimize the convenience of use.
