North Glass's ultra-large curved arc glass outlines the "perfect curve" of the world's largest duty-free shop

Sanya International Duty Free City, located in the core area of Haitang Bay National Coast in Sanya, Hainan, is the world's largest independent duty-free shop and a national 4A-level tourist attraction, covering a total area of 374 acres, and the project has won the "China Construction Engineering Luban Award" and "Hainan Province Green Building Demonstration Project" and many other awards. With its leading ultra-large arc glass manufacturing technology, North Glass provides all curtain wall glass for the first phase of the Sanya International Duty Free City project.

In the face of the long-term hollow ultra-large arc long bent steel glass of more than 5 meters in the project (this type of size is limited in the industry due to the difficulty of processing), North Glass successfully overcame technical problems by relying on the super-large curved arc tempering furnace independently designed and manufactured, and can produce up to 8 meters of curved arc glass. Through the precise process debugging of professional engineers, fast and stable mass production has been realized, so that the smooth and elegant curved shape of the building can be perfectly presented.

The curved glass used in this project not only has excellent optical properties, but also exceeds industry standards in terms of curved smoothness, shape fit, and dimensional accuracy, perfectly aligning with the complex curved surface design requirements of the façade and dome. In terms of glass structure, the project innovatively adopts a long-term hollow energy-saving system, combined with a new generation of flexible warm edge sealing technology, which significantly improves the argon gas retention rate and long-term durability of insulating glass. Its excellent thermal insulation and energy-saving properties also have a service life that far exceeds that of ordinary insulating glass, making it even more valuable in tropical coastal environments.

The project demonstrates North Glass's expertise in the manufacture of special-shaped and large-scale curved arc glass, providing a reliable example for high-performance curtain wall design for ultra-large public buildings in similar climatic regions.
