In modern urban construction, shopping malls, hotels and high-end residential projects, the application of tempered glass is increasing. In 2022, more than 430,000 assembled vehicles were manufactured and assembled in Vietnam, an increase of nearly 15% compared to 2021, and with the development of Vietnam's automobile market, the demand for tempered glass in automotive glass is gradually increasing.

Synthetic Vietnam market analysts said that Vietnam's tempered glass production capacity is relatively limited, and the output cannot fully meet the needs of construction, automobiles, electronics and other industries, so Vietnam's domestic tempered glass is still highly dependent on imports, and the main sources of imports include China, Japan, South Korea and other countries. Vietnam's total imports of tempered glass in 2023 exceeded US$890 million, and in the first seven months of 2024, imports exceeded US$470 million.

According to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China, China's tempered glass exports exceeded 2.2 million tons in 2021, with an export value of nearly 3 billion US dollars, and Vietnam, Thailand, the United States, Malaysia and other countries were the main export destinations, and the amount of tempered glass exported to Vietnam in 2021 exceeded 460,000 tons. It is expected that the demand for Vietnam's tempered glass market will continue to grow in the next few years, and there are greater investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises.
